The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly willing to entertain trade proposals for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Team ownership is seeking clarity on the superstar’s future before the NBA Draft, scheduled for June 23–24. The asking price for Antetokounmpo remains exceptionally high, with Milwaukee demanding either a young franchise cornerstone, a substantial haul of future draft picks, or a combination of both in any potential deal.

“Over the next six or seven weeks, we’ll determine whether Giannis signs a max extension and remains with us or plays elsewhere,” co-owner Jimmy Haslam said Wednesday. “Jon, Taylor, Wes, and I will make that decision, and we fully understand its significance.”

According to the report, Antetokounmpo’s stance on his future has not shifted. Sources indicate both sides increasingly believe a separation could be on the horizon. Rumors of a possible exit from Milwaukee first surfaced around the 2025 NBA Draft lottery and combine. The 31-year-old also reportedly showed interest in joining the New York Knicks over the summer, though those talks eventually fizzled.

The Bucks endured a difficult 2025–26 season, finishing 32–50 and missing the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade. Antetokounmpo was limited to 36 games due to groin, calf, and knee issues. Despite the injuries, he maintained elite production, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
