Statement of the Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate on the Arrest of Saeed Torabian

Saeed Torabian, a member of the board of directors of the Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate, was arrested

Today, Wednesday June 9, at 9:00 a.m. four intelligence officers entered the home of Saeed Torabian and put him in handcuffs in front of his family, searched his house for three hours, and collecting his personal belongings including his computers, took him to an unidentified location at noon on baseless accusations.

Saeed Torabian’s arrest occurs at a time when following four years of uncertainty and numerous hardships, he had just been reinstated to his job four months ago and Mansour Osanloo and Ebrahim Maddadi, the head and deputy head of the Vahed Syndicate, are serving time in prison.

Tehran and Municipality Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate strongly condemns the actions of the intelligence operatives in arresting Saeed Torabian and calls for his immediate and unconditional release as well as those of Mansour Osanloo and Ebrahim Maddadi from prison.
