Haft Tapeh َLabor Leader, Ali Nejati, Freed
Ali Nejati, the general secretary of the Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Workers syndicate, was freed on May 11.
According to the Coordination Committee for support of the Formation of Workers Organizations, Ali Nejati was released at noon on Monday after spending six months in jail. Ali Nijati and his comrades had been serving terms in jail for their union activities.
In his May Day statement, Nejati reiterated his resolve to continue the struggle for realizing the workers demands and setting up independent labor organizations.
