Shiraz ITI Workers Protest Unpaid Back Wages
Workers at Shiraz Iran Telecommunication Industries staged a three day sit-in at the Fars provincial governors mansion. The workers stopped traffic on a roads leading to the plant three days ago protesting due to 13 months of wage theft. The workers vow to continue their protests until the back wages are paid in full. Officials at the governor office have asked workers to return to work without brokering deal. Currently, due to retirement schemes, about 600 workers remain employed at the plant.
