Paper Workers on Strike

Pars Paper Workers Strike Enters its Second Day-

One-thousand-strong work force at Pars Paper Company staged a strike in support of 60 temporary worker layoffs. The workers laid off had between 10 to 15 years of seniority at the factory and have been let go under the pretext of cost cutting.

Besides the layoffs, the management has shut down two units of the plant and cut the transportation services for the workers. The workers have stated that they will not go back to work until their laid off brothers have returned to work.
