Karoun, Shushtar and Haft Tapeh Plantation Workers Protest Gathering by the Parliament

On April 12, a number of workers from Karoun, Shushtar, and Haft Tapeh sugar plantation factories staged a protest gathering by the gates of the Iranian parliament. The workers indicated that following a 2008 sit-in by a number of those workers, a directive was passed to include their unemployment seasons as part of their employment for retirement purposes. The social security administration has failed to act on the issue since that time.
