Problems Continue at ITI
Iran Telecommunications Industries (ITI) workers have not received any dues for the past four months. According to a report by the Iranian Labour News agency (ILNA), while the workers each received four months ago, about 300 US dollars of the 14 months dues, that has been the last time that they have received any wages. The workers staged a protest about three weeks ago when they were promised to receive another back of 300 dollars; a promise which did not materialize. There are 700 workers at ITI and the company has been facing difficulties since the privatizations in early 2000’s. The workers have been forced to secondary jobs such as driving passengers and selling artifacts to make the ends meet.
